"Before the clock strike 12, allow me to recount on some of the more important events of 2008. In March 08, we witnessed the commissioning of our two officers 2Lt Xu Jin Rui and 2Lt Chen Hua Bin. It was after 9 long months of hard work and the two soldiers truly deserved our respect.
In May, the club members attended an employee retreat and were treated to the Iron Man movie screening as well as a pre-movie cocktail party.
August was probably the busiest month of the year. We were proudly sponsored by the Xu Family, to watch F.I.R's first overseas performance on 080808, 8 August 2008 at 8pm, at the Indoor Stadium. Next up was a Mastercard-Wirawan-organised lunch with Senior Teacher Ms Fang Chye Pin. Of course I will not forget to mention the Teachers' Day Grand Slam that saw Team SAFTI came back from 0-2 down to beat Team NY. The final score, 3-2.
In September, we celebrated Mooncake Festival at our Headquarters. The occasion was made merrier when the club cheered Liverpool on to beat Manchester United 2-1.
October was a low-key month for the club.
Activities resumed in November, with the club making a significant breakthrough. A decision was made to start a Club Bank.
December will be most remembered for Don's return to Singapore. The club, often noted for it's lack of arts activities, also showed support for dance performance A Nutcracker Story, with Jinyu starring for Crestar School of Dance.
With 2009 just less than 24 hours away, let me vaguely paint out the picture for next year. In February, our two officers will finish their NS liabilities. Jin Rui and I should enrol in NTU to read accountancy come August. Hua Bin has yet to decide on local university or greener grass abroad. Well, before I forget, the club would probably embark on another MEME trip to Taiwan in May. The trip is now in the process of discussion, and the final dates would be set next year. And of course, May would be the month Liverpool might just end their 19-years wait for a Premier Leauge Title.
Before I end my club statement, may I wish everyone in the club, family members and friends of the club: Good health and good wealth! I wish you all the best in 2009.
Happy New Year."

At 39, Miss Fang Chye Pin, Senior Teacher at Dunman High School was the youngest teacher to be promoted in this year's list. This teacher of 16 years is very grateful for this recognition. "I'm interested in being a leader in classroom teaching, she said.Although she is currently teaching graduating classes, she still finds time to help new colleagues when the need arises. "I would say that i've been hoping for this promotion, but it's too soon to say if i feel added pressure to move up to the next step - as a Master Teacher." she added.
the above was a report contributed by leon, found in moe website..hahaha..the secret was revealed. ooh and the report was published in 2006.
