IIIBUWAN 2008 END OF YEAR CLUB STATEMENT

"Before the clock strike 12, allow me to recount on some of the more important events of 2008. In March 08, we witnessed the commissioning of our two officers 2Lt Xu Jin Rui and 2Lt Chen Hua Bin. It was after 9 long months of hard work and the two soldiers truly deserved our respect.
In May, the club members attended an employee retreat and were treated to the Iron Man movie screening as well as a pre-movie cocktail party.
August was probably the busiest month of the year. We were proudly sponsored by the Xu Family, to watch F.I.R's first overseas performance on 080808, 8 August 2008 at 8pm, at the Indoor Stadium. Next up was a Mastercard-Wirawan-organised lunch with Senior Teacher Ms Fang Chye Pin. Of course I will not forget to mention the Teachers' Day Grand Slam that saw Team SAFTI came back from 0-2 down to beat Team NY. The final score, 3-2.
In September, we celebrated Mooncake Festival at our Headquarters. The occasion was made merrier when the club cheered Liverpool on to beat Manchester United 2-1.
October was a low-key month for the club.
Activities resumed in November, with the club making a significant breakthrough. A decision was made to start a Club Bank.
December will be most remembered for Don's return to Singapore. The club, often noted for it's lack of arts activities, also showed support for dance performance A Nutcracker Story, with Jinyu starring for Crestar School of Dance.
With 2009 just less than 24 hours away, let me vaguely paint out the picture for next year. In February, our two officers will finish their NS liabilities. Jin Rui and I should enrol in NTU to read accountancy come August. Hua Bin has yet to decide on local university or greener grass abroad. Well, before I forget, the club would probably embark on another MEME trip to Taiwan in May. The trip is now in the process of discussion, and the final dates would be set next year. And of course, May would be the month Liverpool might just end their 19-years wait for a Premier Leauge Title.
Before I end my club statement, may I wish everyone in the club, family members and friends of the club: Good health and good wealth! I wish you all the best in 2009.
Happy New Year."

At 39, Miss Fang Chye Pin, Senior Teacher at Dunman High School was the youngest teacher to be promoted in this year's list. This teacher of 16 years is very grateful for this recognition. "I'm interested in being a leader in classroom teaching, she said.Although she is currently teaching graduating classes, she still finds time to help new colleagues when the need arises. "I would say that i've been hoping for this promotion, but it's too soon to say if i feel added pressure to move up to the next step - as a Master Teacher." she added.

the above was a report contributed by leon, found in moe website..hahaha..the secret was revealed. ooh and the report was published in 2006.

20 Year-old's Resolutions for IIIBUWAN

FIRSTLY

I would like to thank my dear brothers for all your time and effort in celebrating my 20th birthday; the cupcake and birthday video, the 3hr karaoke session sing all u want, the exhausting rounds and rounds and rounds and rounds of TOF ( 姐姐问我们是不是要打32圈), the dinner at 新旺( where jr PIU za bo), the winning eleven championship which i eventually fell asleep ( IT WAS 6AM !!), and the surprising hongbao of $16.80.
It was mostly fun, and also one of my most physically and mentally strenuous birthdays i ever had.
Shant forget pussy lee and don teng who gave me their well wishes too ! Thank you my friends :D

SECONDLY

I will like to announce my bday thoughts & resolutions for IIIBUWAN. I remember the launch of this club in year 2007. It was opened right after our first ever MEME trip to HongKong, to keep our beautiful memories together, doubt i will ever forget those days- the jacky hostel, the night at cosmo bar, the rides at ocean park that made jd so sick, the long 10km walk through the city etc. We were just talking about it that day in the bus. I really look forward to our next trip.

And 1 year on, this club hasnt changed much. jd hb jr don still in army, dh still in uni. though now our activities are somewhat reduced ( no more studying tghtr, going zoo do cip..) and limited, im glad all of us are still able to meet up regularly.

Health comes first to me. I try not to breathe in smoke, i dont get myself drunk, i try to keep fit. And maybe thats why my bday wishes are for my family members and friends to stay healthy. It is a simple wish from me, but really sincere from the bottom of my heart. My secondary wishes will be to get into a good uni, get a good career, get a chio, caring cum intellectual wife, all the standard stuff i wish every year.

10/ 20 years later, im sure all of us will have walked separate ways. Who knows? maybe DH base his company back at his hometown, jd becomes a top accountant who spends 2o hours a day working, Jr goes to india to work, don goes for TW presidential elect? whatever the scenario, i am v confident that we will definitely have much to talk about to each other and still meet up. Even if cant, LIVERPOOL will still pull us tgther to watch a game of ball tgthr. dont forget we are die hard kop fans.

LASTLY

I wish everybody all the best in their future endeavours, while for now, my short term aim is to be the top contributor to the club bank ! hahaha

new club policy

Dear members,
First of all, I would like to welcome Junda back from Australia, though it's not the best experience he could have but nontheless, he is back in one piece.
Next, let me introduce to you our new club policy. With effect from 1st nov 2008, every winner of the tof session will have to contribute 40% of his winnings to the club fund and for any member that has a profit less than $1, all his winnings will go to the fund. The fund will only be reviewed at the end of a 6-months league season. At the end of the season, a semi-annual general meeting (SAGM) will be held to discuss the usage of the fund. Of course, if there are special occasions when club fund is needed, special permission will be given to open the Club Bank (CB), but only with VERBAL AGREEMENT from all 4 board members. This new policy is agreed upon by the 4 board members and CB was sealed in the presence of all. Anyone accessing the CB without aquiring the permission of all 4 board members will be serverely penalised. The club reserved the rights to pursuit legal action against offenders.

Official CB Safe-keeper : Xu Jin Rui (Sxxxxxxxx)
Official Club Fund Accountant: Goh Jun Da (Sxxxxxxxx)

The Famous (Left) Hand of God (of Mahjong)

Just when you thought this was the best tattoo you could ever have on your body (it actually is), Dihua actually came out with something that was equally good. Bin was the biggest victim no doubt.

It started with this. Da San Yuan was on his mind the whole day, though it was Jinrui who came closest to doing it. Neverthesless, this was enough to distract Bin from his usual attacking game. It didn't help that this do-it-yourself tattoo was on Dihua's left hand, and for 2 rounds, Bin was always to his left. Coincidence? Well, you decide. 2 times in a row, Bin fell into Dihua's trap, releasing full cannon both times.

First time: Dihua was waiting. Dihua looked at something else. Bin thought Dihua was not waiting. Bin provided. (Dihua said,"
i think the most successful part of the first game was that i look at the 7wan bin threw and ponder awhile..so he fall into my trap.)

Second time: Dihua was waiting. Bin thought Dihua was trying to trick him again. Bin provided.

I couldn't fault you if you thought this was the only drama yesterday. I mean, who wouldn't? But there was more to come..

This two tiles were tiles Jinrui love to hate, hate to love. For two times, either tile would provide him a full house man tai. For two times, both tiles chose not to arrive.

First time: Jinrui was waiting. It never came.

Second time: Jinrui was waiting again. It didn't arrive again.

Both times, Jinrui was in full flow. Man Tais each time.

This was the tile that Jinrui had to thank last night. One more tile to Lao Yue, (it doesn't really matter because Jinrui was already Man Tai, and the Lao Yue tile was also the same tile) Jinrui got this tile and he Dan Diao successfully. Zi Mo Man Tai.

Just as if the previous tattoo wasn't enough, Dihua added another one on the underside of his LEFT hand. Bin was equally distracted by this tattoo. End of the day, no prize for guessing who had the most wins. But on such an eventful day, everyone was a winner. Each has their most memorable round and all are looking towards the start of the new season, where a new fund would be set up.

From now till then, keep your hands to yourself. The hunger GROWS....

this is our player

The player
I am so pleased for the staff, for the boss and for all the players. But also for the workers in the factories, the offices, the restaurants, the hotels and the bars who want to win this game so much. I would like to dedicate my goals to them as thanks for their support. I hope we made them happy by winning. When we win we win together - so this victory is shared between all of us. It is not about one player. It is very simple - without Robbie and Dirk, the goals I scored would not have been created. They were involved in both goals and it is because they give everything for the team that I was able to score them. It is always nice to score, but without my team mates it would not have been possible.

MEME!!!

GENTLEMEN~~ MEME TRIP IS BACK!
this coming june we see the officers have to clear their leaves and also tof club chairperson will be receiving his pre-minister training starting from july. therefore we decided to have another MEME to enjoy life again before we each take up new responsibilities.

Stage 1
we have to decide on the destination. currently we have shortlisted shanghai, puket, other little islands in indo/malaysia and of coz taiwan.

if anyone have any more idea pls feel free to post.
i've searched some info on shanghai, mainly the airfare, hotel and tourism attractions. it looks exciting with happenning nite life. the hotel fare is resonable (cheaper than hk and better than hk about 320-400RMB/nite for twin bedroom in a 3 star hotel, really cheap ones are like 250RMB/nite twin bedroom no window but aircon). air ticket is the tough part, it seems like there is no budget airline that flies directly from sg to shanghai. i am currently thinking about going to macau or guangzhou first then we take train to shanghai..it's just one possibility..
personally i would say it's a good location because of olympics and so there should be many events taking place there.and if i go other countries have to make visa very troublesome.
i think 5-7 days would be good duration.

Gentlemen, do you still remember the fun and beautiful memories we created one yr ago in our maiden MEME trip? let's work hand in hand to make this MEME trip a success!!
